Colts versus the Jets started off week 9 on Thursday Night Football. It was a high scoring one with Wentz actually throwing to his own guys! Shock of the year. Colts ended up winning 45-30 behind a massive day for Jonathan Taylor. The new Odell less Browns face the Bengals in Cincy. We will see how Baker looks without his former WR1 (sike). The one loss Cowboys will face an average Bronco's team who just traded Vonn Miller. Dak is supposed to be back and if Dallas can win with Cooper Rush at the helm, I don't expect to see them lose this one. The suckfest for this week is the 1 win Texans versus the 1 win Dolphins. I expect to see Tua prevail in this one.
Falcons face the Saints. New Orleans defense is just getting better and they're playing at home so I don't see the average Falcons pulling off this miracle. Raiders are only getting better and facing a bad Giants team. Las Vegas should win big. The average race will be the Patriots versus the Panthers but the Patriots are not as average as their record suggests and I don't think they lose this game. Unless McCaffery is back but even if he returns I don't know if he can be his best self immediately against a decent New England run defense. Bills get an easy one again facing the one win Jaguars.
The Ravens face the Vikings. Baltimore is coming off a bye week so they should be healthy and ready to go against a Vikings team that suffered a close loss last week against the Cowboys. Cook will have to put up big numbers to win this one. Chargers are facing the Eagles in Philly. Herbert will need a big day and their defense will have to step up. Chargers run defense is very bad so if Philly has a chance they will have step it up to get stops against Boston Scott, Philly's new weapon.
The Packers had a miracle win without two of their best wide receivers against the Cardinals and will need another miracle this week. They will face the startlingly average Chiefs but they will do it without Aaron Rodgers because of COVID. Packers defense should be able to handle Mahomes but the question is will Jordan Love be handled by the Chiefs bad defense? Might be a low scoring game but maybe the Packers back up has a miracle in his pocket. Cardinals will face the 49ers at San Fran. Arizona is the underdog which makes no sense so I would jump on it before that changes.
The Titans will have a real fight against the Rams without Derrick Henry for the first time. Stafford will put up big numbers against a bad defense and Tannehill will have to connect with Brown big time to manage this miracle in the night game. The Bears will travel to Pittsburgh and play the Steelers. The Steelers are 6 and a half point favorites. Fields is improving but not fast and will need lots of help from his running backs. Najee Harris will also need to have a big game for the Steelers to win this one. Let's see what week 9 has for us.
