College Football is Backkk

Updated: Sep 2, 2021

This weekend marks the real beginning of the 2021 college football season. There are a ton of good games coming up this weekend that will help shed light on who is the team to beat when it comes to winning the national championship. No surprise, top ranked Alabama is still the most likely to win it all come January. New quarterback Bryce Young has pretty big shoes to fill in Tuscaloosa but is still on preliminary Heisman watch and will likely have a big season for the Tide. Alabama will face 14th ranked Miami as a 19.5 point favorite Saturday. Miami will likely be one of the best teams in the ACC but the Tide is expected to roll over the Hurricanes on opening weekend. The best game this weekend is a top 5 match up and involves Heisman contender JT Daniels from Georgia. Daniels and the 5th ranked Dawgs have a huge test early on when they take on number three Clemson and one of the best defensive lines in the country in Charlotte on Saturday night. Clemson is facing a must win in game 1 considering their strength of schedule, or lack thereof in the ACC, if they want a spot in the playoffs. With a loss, Georgia's road will become a lot harder, though not impossible. The outcome of the game will show a lot in regards to whose playing in January.19th ranked Penn State faces number 12 Wisconsin in Madison looking to get a big win in conference against the Badgers. The last top 25 match up will include Texas, led by their new head coach Steve Sarkisian, facing the Ragin Cajuns of Louisiana. Longhorns are looking to finally get their offense going against a strong Sun Belt team. Oklahoma will play Tulane in their opener looking to win big as they start their race to the ship with Heisman favorite Spencer Rattler at the helm. Rattler will have a solid offensive line to play behind and an experienced team behind him that returns 15 players from last season. Ohio State has Garrett Wilson and Chris Olave returning, who will likely be QB C.J. Stroud's favorite targets. Cincinnati looks to be the best group of 5 school again this year with another top 5 defense, despite their defensive coordinator moving to Notre Dame. Bearcats QB, Riddler, is expected to have another impressive season trying to make it into the playoffs. There are a lot of great games to be played this weekend so buckle up and get ready for a football filled weekend. This season promises to be entertaining. Opening weekend means there is a lot of football left to be played until someone is crowned as champions so get ready to watch, cheer, trash talk, and enjoy because college football is back baby!!!
