College Football Week 6 Recap

Week 6 had a lot of surprises and upsets making the college football landscape even more wide open if that's even possible. Coastal Carolina surprised no one by beating Arkansas State by 32. Keep betting the over on them, it is as close to easy money as you'll find this season. Cincinnati won by 49 over Temple continuing to get a bid to the play offs. Arizona State beat Stanford that included an insane lateral INT to put it away. Georgia stayed unbeaten beating a top 20 ranked Auburn in Jordan Hare. It is officially time to put away the Georgia hasn't played anyone argument. This was the third win against a ranked team (it's not Georgia's fault Clemson shouldn't have been ranked) with a fourth ranked opponent coming up next with undefeated Kentucky. Georgia shut out Auburn and won by more than 30.

Iowa beat Penn State scoring 10 in the fourth quarter to stay unbeaten. The "best" game of the weekend (if you're not a Texas fan) was the Red River Rivalry. Texas came in shooting scoring four touchdowns in the first quarter. Everyone continued to score after that especially once Oklahoma benched the bad Spencer Rattler. Texas forgot how to play defense in the fourth quarter with epically bad tackling allowing OU to score 25 and ultimately win 55-48. Oklahoma may have found their way to the playoffs and it's their backup QB Caleb Williams. The most surprising game of the weekend was an Alabama loss to unranked Texas A&M. Alabama's defense was almost as bad as Texas's and lost on a last second field. Alabama had a lot of streaks come to an end including Saban being 24-0 against former assistants and100 consecutive wins versus unranked teams. Alabama still has a play off chance if they can stay unbeaten but the SEC Championship game just got a lot more interesting for Bama fans. One loss and Alabama fans are already losing their minds, I don't know what they're gonna do once Saban actually retires. They might just die.

Ohio State won big again. Michigan stayed unbeaten but barely, showing signs of a L looming. Boise State crushed BYU's undefeated dreams beating them 26-17. Michigan State beat Rutgers 31-13. Another good game was Ole Miss versus Arkansas. It was a shootout of who wanted it more that Ole Miss eventually won 52-51. Notre Dame bounced back against Virginia Tech by 3. Kentucky won impressively against LSU. Just when they have finally gotten people to take them seriously, they face Georgia in Athens. It will be a battle of one of the best offensive lines versus the best defensive line for a battle for the East. Wake Forest stayed unbeaten against Syracuse. Florida won big against Vanderbilt unsurprisingly, they needed the resume pad as Georgia looms ahead at the end of the month. SMU beat Navy by 7. San Diego also won big against New Mexico. Lots of big wins and bigger losses in week 6. Halfway through the season and who knows what will shake out in the next few weeks but to quote Lane Kiffin, you should all grab your popcorn.
