NFL Week 1 Predictions

The 2021 NFL season starts with the Cowboys versus the reigning champions Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It will be a great game and will be followed by even better games all Sunday long. The Philadelphia Eagles will open with the Falcons in Atlanta. Jalen Hurts will start against a Julio-less Falcon team with a new head coach. Falcons are in the strong NFC South and need to start off strong if they have any hope of surviving this season. Falcons win this one. Steelers will start the season against the Buffalo Bills who are poised to potentially win the AFC. Steelers Watt is still in contract negotiation which could help the Bills win their first game of the season. Bills will win this one. Vikings open against the Bengals and Cincy's defense will have to see significant improvement in their run game defense if they want to stop Vikings Dalvin Cook. Burrow is back after knee injury took him out of his rookie season early and he is ready to show why he was chosen to bring this Bengal team back. Burrow can do some but not all, Vikings win.

49ers start their season against the Lions and will win big in Detroit. Cardinals play the Titans in Nashville and Derrick Henry joined by Julio Jones will win this game in what will be a high scoring game. Kyler Murray will have pull some magic together if he wants to win especially if A.J Brown, currently questionable, ends up playing. Seahawks open against the Colts with Wilson against Wentz, traded to the Colts in the offseason. If Wentz plays like he did with the Eagles expect to see a lot of interceptions and a Seahawk win. San Diego opens against the Washington Football Team (That's still the stupidest name ever but whatever) in a pick em game. Justin Herbert looks to have another solid year and I personally hope he shows out against a Washington team that struggled last year despite winning the worst division in the NFL. The struggles will continue and Chargers will beat WFT to start the season.

NFL's worst team, New York Jets open with Carolina when former Jets quarterback Sam Darnold now with the Panthers faces his replacement Zach Wilson. Jets will find out early if they made the right call getting Wilson who has a lot to prove especially with Christian McCaffrey back for Carolina. Carolina just has more talent and will win this one in a close game. Trevor Lawrence will suit up for the Jaguars in his rookie debut and will pay a weak Houston team. I think Lawrence wins his first game and continues to impress. Browns and Chiefs will open the season in a divisional round playoff rematch. Browns pass rush with an added Jadeveon Clowney will join Myles Garrett in testing the rebuilt KC offensive line. Odell Beckham is back after injury last season and will have to produce if the Browns want to beat the reigning AFC champs. It will be a great game but Mahomes will triumph as Baker continues to find his way.

Former Alabama QB's will be put to the test as Tua's Dolphins face rookie Mac Jones and the Patriots. Mac Jones has Brady size shoes to fill but I think he will beat his former teammate in New England to start the season. In a huge NFC match up, the Packers face New Orleans. The Saints will be without Brees who retired in the offseason and will start their season with Jameis Winston at the helm. Winston may have won the starting job but he won't win this game. Rodgers will come out on top to start the season and will put up huge numbers against Saints' pass coverage. Broncos open against the Giants and with Broncos defense and Giants RB Barkley still being questionable, I see Denver winning this one.

The Stafford led Rams will face the Dalton led Bears in the night game on Sunday. Dalton faces a lot of pressure to perform with his back up rookie Justin Fields waiting in the wings to take his place on the field. The Bear's new defensive coordinator, Sean Desai, will have his work cut out for him against Rams head coach Sean McVay, one of the best offensive minds in the league. Rams win this one. Monday night football will premiere with Ravens versus Raiders in Las Vegas. Ravens lost running back J.K Dobbins in pre season and has one of the worst passing offensives in the league. Jackson better hope nobody has figured him out yet if he wants to win this one. I think Raiders could pull off an upset here. Lots of good games in week 1 so let's get this NFL season started already!
