NFL Week 7 Recap

The week started off with Baker Mayfield getting a front row seat to Case Keenum taking the Browns to a win over the Broncos. Johnson got more playing time and impressed while Hunt and Chubb recover. Browns are officially 4-3 and did better without Mayfield on the field in this one which fans are not likely to forget. The Packers stayed winning against the Washington Football Team who continues to try and put the pieces together to be decently average. The pieces have not been together yet. The Titans impressed again absolutely embarrassing the Chiefs. It was the first game since Mahomes was drafted that the offense did not score a touchdown. The Titans won 27-3 that included Derrick Henry THROWING a touchdown pass. Like I said, the Chiefs got embarrassed.

The Falcons got away with a win on a late field goal by Younghoe Koo walking out with a 30-28 win over the Dolphins. Tua is back but it was not enough to get the Dolphins back in the win column. The Patriots came back from their late game loss to Dallas by winning in a blowout. Looks like Tom Brady isn't the only one who owns the Jets, the Patriots have a share too beating New England 54 to 13. Zach Wilson suffered a hit and will miss 2-4 weeks to make the Jets season go from bad to worse. The Giants pulled off a win over the Panthers who are free falling since being 3-0. New York won 25-3 over the Panthers who desperately need McCaffery back.

We were shown once again that anything can happen week to week because as good as the Ravens looked last week against the Chargers, they looked like a different team against the Bengals and not in a good way. Burrow and Chase have cracked the NFL together just like college and are off to the races. Add in Mixon and the Bengals are only getting better. The Raiders without Waller managed to handle the Eagles, another NFC East team trying to put the pieces together. Las Vegas lost Josh Jacobs early but still pulled off a 33-22 win. Jared Goff returned to LA and Matthew Stafford faced his former team and prevailed in the Rams Lions game. The Lions pulled off some early miracles with a long Swift touchdown and a recovered onside kick. Sadly, it was not enough and Kupp continued to dominate allowing the Rams to get another win and keep the Lions winless with a 28-19 victory.

Cardinals stayed perfect against the Texans as Hopkins and Watt played their former team. Arizona continued to impress winning 31-5 against a horrific Houston team. The Buccaneers also won big against the Bears. Brady showed why a veteran is preferable to a rookie as they beat Chicago 38-3. The Bears were finally able to get stops in the second half allowing only a field goal but 5 touchdowns in the first half proved a nail in the coffin for Chicago and they never recovered.

The night game was a good one with the Colts facing the 49ers. Carson Wentz had a truly embarrassing interception in the first half but still managed to win the game mostly because Jimmy G kept throwing interceptions. Was it an impressive Wentz win or an embarrassing Jimmy G loss? I physically can't say Wentz is impressive so I guess it's the latter. The Monday night game was Saints versus the Seahawks. It started off well for the Seahawks with an 84 yard bomb to Metcalf that turned into 7. After that though everything was hard for the Seahawks. Metcalf caught one more ball the whole night. The Saints didn't look much better on offense but their defense managed to hold Geno to only a field goal all night. Two missed field goals for the Seattle led to the Saints pulling out the win 13-10 to end Week 7.
